CafeStop
Café stops part-way along your ride
Privacy
- GPX files are read in your browser. Only the route line is sent to find cafés; it is used for that one request and never stored or logged. RideWithGPS links work the same way.
- Cafés you add are stored and checked before anyone else can see them. Until then, only your browser can see them: it keeps a random code that links you to your submissions. Clearing your browser data removes that link.
- Notes you add to a submission or a problem report are seen only by the person who runs CafeStop.
- To limit abuse, a salted hash of your IP address is kept for up to 24 hours (for problem reports, the hash is kept with the report). The IP address itself cannot be read back from it.
- "Use my location" is used only to place the pin, and only when you press the button. Your location is not stored unless you send the café.
- Name search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Maps use OpenStreetMap tiles. Bot protection is Cloudflare Turnstile. These services see the requests your browser or our server makes to them.
- No accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies.
